Documenting art is an archival process. How we look at geneaologies, categories, groups of things, and history which attempts to define or describe these things in broader contexts and relations. I am using the museum as a context- the background and lighting and compositions of the photos, as a type of object in and of itself. Museums have a function to take objects out of “real life” and place them into new lives, new decor, new sites of interests. These new places or realms may have subtle accents, – glass or reflections, or various stones, or white walls with variations in tones, or stone floors, whereby, give the art objects the space to be an art object communicating rather than existing, like it does in the “lived environments” of urban spaces, and homes. Standing in a museum room, with a painting or sculpture, 1000s of years old, is the ideal phenomenological experience.
